Tasty Tuesdays: Edible Totoros

Kyraben are actually Bentos that are made with characters  from animes, cartoons, movies, etc. And generally, kyarabens are harder to make than normal bentos, just because of the amount of work put in to make edible ingredients look like a character, not to mention it has to look the same in terms of colours too!

Today, I'm going to introduce my favourite kyraben maker who's blog is fantastic for ideas and uber cuteness! Anna The Red (not to be confused with Hongyi/Red), is a girl who's blog I've always followed just because she's a big fan of games, animes and in particular, she's a big fan of Ghibli that loves to make Totoro shaped food!

I don't love it, I don't hate it and yet I cannot say that I have never craved for it.

You don't talk about the Superbowl without talking about the food, finger food that's easy to eat while watching the game and cheering your favourite team on.

Although we don't watch the Superbowl here, I still think these recipes are pretty neat as finger food when it comes to small gatherings or even a DVD night with your pals (and yes, good for football nights if you don't want mamak)

Bentos are essentially lunchboxes, popular in places like Japan, Taiwan, and China. It's a healthy, yummy & cheap way of enjoying your lunch, especially when you're on a tight budget!

Now looking at the pictures of Bentos you might be thinking "How long did it take to make THAT?!" But really, making a bento can take as short as you want or as long as you want, it all depends on your own planning. Tasty Tuesdays: 6 Course Japanese Lunch

So I was with my fellow colleagues at the launching of the Doraemon World 2012 last week (which I will blog about in a later post) and was served the most amazing 6 course Japanese Lunch at Tokyo Teppan that day :)

Truthfully, I've never been to Tokyo Teppan (situated in Pavilion, KL) even though I've walked past the restaurant a few times. It sorta always seemed like a typical teppanyaki place and I'm not the kind who has a particular love for teppanyaki. So when I was served these 6 amazing dishes, I was pleasantly surprised at what they had to offer.
